Color Revamp

The spice of life is variety, and that’s especially true in the world of color. Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on color trends across different markets and industries. When we see changes happening, we review our color spectrum to ensure that we remain consistently on top of the trends. This brings us to the 2018 Color Revamp!

In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colors, we decided it was time to give our color collections a makeover. The new variety of shades will inspire creativity and allow you to explore more sides of your crafting. Read on for more information!

There are still four color collections, each with ten colors. There is also a new color group called Basics, which will include Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White. Removing these three gave us additional space in the Neutrals to add a little color–3 colors that can really be considered neutral!

There are no changes to the In Color program. Every two years we will continue to introduce five new In Colors that will be available for the ensuing two years. But with this color revamp, you will see six previous In Colors returning to join our core colors–so excited about that!

Some additional colors have changed within the collections as well—you’ll notice this as you look through the new collections below. You can refer to the old and new color charts in the 2018-2019 catalog when it’s released on June 1.

Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad

So yesterday I told you that I’d give you the lowdown on the new, redesigned ink pads. As you can see, the case looks different, but the ink is different, too.

Why the change to the case?

Manufacturing molds can be used a limited number of times before they must be replaced. The mold for the Stampin’ Pad case was about to go, so SU! had to decide whether to purchased a new mold of the same design, or whether to redesign and improve the case and create a new mold. Of course they improved it!

To allow you to invest in new colors, get the improved case and ink, and have SU!’s packaging and rebranding updates, Stampin’ Up! is making all of these changes at the same time. I love that!

And the new case offers all of these benefits:

  • Less confusing to open.
  • Tighter fit between the lid and the base.
  • Stackable.
  • Improved labels and stickers.

How is the ink different?

  • Reduced ink bubbles.
  • Smoother coating of ink on the stamp.
  • Improved ink coverage.
  • You can re-ink the new ink pads with old re-inkers, you just won’t get the benefit of the defoamer that’s been added to the new re-inkers. The only exception to this is, you don’t want to use the Archival Basic Black or Basic Gray Re-inker on the new pads because it will ruin it.
