Welcome to InKing Royalty’s May Blog Hop! We are grinning from ear-to-ear with excitement over all the amazing, new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog – and you’re going to love what we are sharing today. Today’s Blog Hop is filled with projects that offer sneak peeks at new products from the upcoming catalog. What fun! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Today’s card showcases 2 new products and 1 new technique. Let’s get straight to it!
The new products are pretty obvious! Animal Outing is a fun sketched set that just begs to be colored with any of our great coloring options. For this project I chose the Stampin’ Blends. I love the way they cast shadows and highlights. The second new product is the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. These 3mm pearls come in a sheet of 100; 20 of each of 5 beautiful, shimmery colors. They are available now as part of the Share What You Love Suite preorder.
Tips and Tricks
New Technique – Creating a Void. While I was making the card, I really wanted a little color around the rhino that wouldn’t take away from him. But I didn’t want to watercolor on the Whisper White, so I came up with this idea using the stamp, acrylic block and Stampin’ Write Markers:
Old Trick – Cropping an Image. There is the cutest little frog on the branches that I used for the background. Can’t see him? That’s because I strategically placed my stamps so that he always stamped off of the page or under the focal point.
Fun Finish – Carrying the theme. I love a little surprise inside, so Mr. Frog finally got his chance.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Candy Ford at Stamp Candy. There’s a lot of inspiration to be found in the group – and you don’t want to miss it!
